Beau James Ouellette was born in Encino in the San Fernando Valley in California. Most of his teenage life was lived apart from God, in darkness and bondage to many of this worlds temptations. In 1988 he was invited by his mother to meet a Christian classical guitarist named Christopher Parkening at a church in the San Fernando Valley. That summer he spent two weeks in Montana State University with Christopher Parkening and heard the gospel for the first time. In the next year Beau started attending a small church called Calvary Chapel of Simi Valley and received Christ as his Lord and Savior!
"Christ became my everything, my treasure." And from that time drugs and a "clubbing" life style no longer had the lure that it once had.
Beau and his wife, Sylvia moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1994 after they were in a huge earthquake in Northridge California. Upon arriving in Tucson, Beau met Pastor Scott Richards and immediately was drawn to be a part of a new church work.
"I never ever thought that I would be a Pastor!" Yet this is what the Lord had in his plan for Beau, by grace. During his time of Ministering he has served as a youth pastor, worship minister, administrator & Assistant Pastor.
During this time a past secret sin in his life crept back in very slowly and of little frequency, but with time came to be more and more of a thorn. "Pornography has always been in my life, and what shame I felt as a Pastor who couldn't seem to fully leave it alone." So many areas of his life were changed from the time of his salvation, yet it seemed this battle would be a long drawn out heavy weight title fight. Through an Elder he served with and another brother in the Lord, he was pointed to settingcaptivesfree.com and enrolled into the Way of Purity course in 2007!
"I remember being so afraid to sign up out of fear that someone would know that a Pastor of all people was struggling in the area of porn." He started the study and confessed to his wife, who he has known since he was 8 years of age. Since that time Beau has been free of the habitual sin of pornography and has, by grace, been given a whole new outlook on the treasure Christ is. He has served as a Mentor since January of 2008 and is praying about becoming a Mentor Coordinator for S.C.F. Ministries. "I am blessed to be enabled by the Lord, knowing that it is his grace that leads us to abstain from worldly lust, to his glory!" He meets with couples and individuals on a weekly basis mentoring them in the course work in S.C.F. in the hopes that they too would be free of the bondage to pornography.
